Water Safety Awareness Xs1

Endless™ Pools – Committed to Water Safety Every Day!

Water is all around us, and at Endless Pools, that’s how we like it. From lakes to rivers, oceans to pools, water is the essential element that enhances our world. But along with the countless benefits comes responsibility, which is why water safety is so important.

If swimming, boating, and other water-based activities are part of your day-to-day life, you’re probably familiar with the basic principles of water safety. But, even if you live hours away from a major body of water, not understanding the potential hazards water poses or being unaware of how to respond in an emergency can put you and your family at risk.

WHY WATER SAFETY MATTERS

Based on CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control) statistics, each day in the U.S. an estimated 11 people die from unintentional drowning. Even more heartbreaking: Two of the 10 are children no older than 14 years old.

Drowning ranks as the fifth leading cause of unintentional injury and death in the country.

The CDC has also documented these sobering statistics:

  • More children ages 1–4 die from drowning than any other cause of death, and for children ages 5–14, drowning is the number two cause of accidental death behind motor vehicle crashes.
  • For every child who dies due to drowning, another seven will visit the emergency room for nonfatal submersion injuries.
  • Nearly half of those ER cases will be hospitalized or transferred to another care facility. That’s compared to a hospitalization rate of ten percent for all unintentional injuries.

Nonfatal drowning injuries can cause extreme brain damage and serious long-term disabilities, including memory problems, loss of basic functioning (otherwise known as being in a permanent vegetative state), and learning disabilities.

ENDLESS ACCESS: PART OF THE SOLUTION

At Endless Pools, our mission is to make water-based fun, fitness, and recreation accessible to as many people as possible. We believe that water safe kids grow into water safe adults, so we’re doing our part to support swim education and awareness through our Endless Access Program.

And that’s just one way we’re making a difference. Here are just a few of the ways Endless Pools is helping people of all ages and activity levels stay water safe:

  • Endless Pools has a range of compact, low maintenance, pools and swim spas that can be installed virtually anywhere, making pool ownership possible for more homeowners. Having regular access to a pool helps children become more comfortable and confident in the water, creating a strong foundation for a lifetime of safe, water-based recreation.
  • Whether installed in a commercial swim school, backyard, or pool room, Endless Pools products are the ideal environment for swim lessons. Their adjustable current can be dialed up or down to suit most students, and the compact size and configuration means instructors can be just an arm’s length away without actually getting into the pool. With a teacher close at hand, students can feel safe and secure, and benefit from instant feedback.
  • Features like custom fitted manual, automatic security and locking swim spa covers help keep kids and pets safe when the pool isn’t in use. Accessibility features like bars, steps, and rails make getting in and out of our products safer and easier.
  • Endless Pools’ resistance current helps young and inexperienced swimmers become accustomed to the properties of moving water. Figures compiled by the Association of Aquatic Professionals, state that 74% of drownings occur in the open water of lakes, oceans, and rivers. Mastering these skills in a controlled space, with an instructor or parent nearby, can give swimmers the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to stay safe both inside the pool or in any open water environment.
  • Through our Endless Access program, we’re helping make swimming education accessible to all. As a Philadelphia area company, we’ve partnered with the Greater Philadelphia YMCA to provide swim lessons to hundreds of underserved youths and adults. Our contributions also support Step into Swim, an initiative dedicated to creating more swimmers nationwide. Thanks to Step into Swim, underserved communities across 46 states are gaining access to vital swim education, empowering them to enjoy the water safely.

WATER SAFETY TIPS

These National Water Safety Month tips from the World Waterpark Association can help keep you and your family safer in and around the water:

  • Everyone should learn to swim. The American Academy of Pediatrics supports swimming classes after the age of 1 if the child is emotionally and developmentally ready.
  • It is critical that adults actively supervise children whenever they are around water. Do not get distracted while supervising children.
  • It is best to swim in an area supervised by lifeguards, but lifeguards are the last line of defense when all other layers of protection fail.
  • Learn how to properly perform CPR.
  • Follow the posted safety rules. Read and discuss them with children upon arrival to the pool or beach.
  • All non-swimmers should wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket. This applies to people who are not comfortable in the water or who are in open bodies of water.
  • Install barriers, such as pool covers, child alarms, self-locking gates, and fencing to prevent unsupervised access.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • Visit the National Water Safety Month Facebook page to like, share, and comment.
  • Use classrooms to promote water safety by distributing water safety materials, encouraging children to take the water safety pledge, and hanging Water Safety Month posters.
  • Host a water safety fair in conjunction with other community partners, such as your local YMCA, swimming/triathlon studio, fire department, etc.

MAY IS NATIONAL WATER SAFETY MONTH

Since its inception in 2007, National Water Safety Month has highlighted the importance of water safety. During this time, organizations like the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals, the American Red Cross, the National Recreation and Park Association, and the World Waterpark Association join forces to raise awareness about drowning prevention and promote safe practices in and around the water.

Over the years, National Water Safety Month has caught the attention of the governors of every state, who have supported the efforts by signing water safety proclamations. Olympic swimmers have also joined the cause, bringing attention to the importance of swimming lessons and public education regarding safe practices for adults and kids.

HAVE FUN AND STAY SAFE, EVERY DAY!

National Water Safety Month provides a timely reminder that many water-related injuries and tragedies can be prevented. You can do your part by making sure the kids – and adults – in your life know how to swim and behave responsibly around all kinds of water.

At Endless Pools, we recognize that water safety is a year-round commitment. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing resources, tips, and guidance to help individuals and families stay safe in and around the water, every day!

“Swimuary” Challenges Endless™ Pools Owners to Take the Plunge

You may have seen a new term, “Swimuary” flooding your social media feed in January. What was all the excitement about?

It all started when Nicole, an avid swimmer and triathlete, shared a video of her winter swim routine. Nicole lives in Illinois, where the temps can drop to the single digits, but plunging temperatures don’t stop the triathlete from using her pool nearly every day, regardless of cold, rain, or snow.

Nicole was enjoying her winter swim sessions in her E550 swim spa so much that she decided to share her experience on the Endless Pools Facebook owners’ page. After posting several videos of her workouts, people started noticing. That’s when Nicole got the idea for her “Swimuary” challenge.

“People were commenting on my posts and videos, so I decided to invite everyone to join in and share their January workouts. Swimuary really took off,” she explained. “People loved posting pictures of themselves swimming in the cold. It’s been really fun. I’ve made some new friends and I feel like this challenge actually changed the vibe of the page.”

You Don’t Have To Be A Polar Bear To Enjoy A Winter Swim In Endless Pools.

Swimming in January doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. As a versatile pool that can be used year round, Endless Pools are temperature controlled and energy efficient so swimmers like Nicole can enjoy an outdoor swim even when there’s snow on the ground. For those people who want even more options, Original Series, WaterWell®, and Streamline® pools have the flexibility to be assembled indoors or outdoors.

Nicole put a lot of thought into making her aquatic workouts as comfortable as possible. No matter what the temperature is outside, the water in her E550 swim spa is always kept at a comfortable 88 degrees. Thanks to its compact size and insulated cabinet, her pool can be kept warm all year – even during the coldest days – without incurring high energy bills.

Braving the cold on the way to the pool is no problem for Nicole. Her heated pool is located close to her sun porch, and she’s positioned an outdoor heater outside the porch to keep the stairs warm. She even keeps her towel on a heated rack during her swim, and enjoys its luxurious warmth when she’s done with her workout.

Falling In Love With Endless Pools

It was 2015 when Nicole first discovered Endless Pools, the beginning of her love affair with the product. Whenever there was a home show or pool expo, Nicole would show up in her bathing suit and goggles and ask to take a test swim. The dealers were delighted to have her show off her stroke in their pools. She tried all the different brands and models. A friend got another brand, but from the beginning Nicole knew the Endless Pools brand was for her.

“Some of the other pools didn’t flow fast enough, some were too bubbly or the currents stopped and started,” she said. “Endless Pools was the best!”

Finally, in May 2021, Nicole ordered her Endless Pools E550 swim spa. She experienced what she calls “endless anticipation,” because her pool wasn’t due to be delivered until August of the following year. That didn’t stop Nicole.

“I would go into American Sale in Orland Park about twice a week and swim in the pools on the showroom floor. They didn’t mind,” she said. “Sometimes I’d help the sales team. I’d hear a customer ask a question, and I’d answer while I was swimming! I sold at least two pools while I was at the dealership.”

Dedication & Practice Pays Off

Growing up, Nicole swam competitively and was active in gymnastics and dance. She completed her first triathlon over 20 years ago on a dare but went back to the dance studio.

Years later, her grade school swim coach was pulling together a triathlon team and she started training with him. She went on to complete multiple triathlons, including seven grueling IRONMAN® competitions.

In November 2024, Nicole achieved her fastest finish ever at the IRONMAN® Cozumel, she was the sixth person out of the water in a race she trained for primarily in her new swim spa! Nicole practiced her stroke in the pool and also trained for the running portion using her underwater treadmill for extra resistance without impact.

It’s Not Work If You’re Doing Something You Love

For Nicole, owning an E550 swim spa was worth the wait.

“My favorite thing is swimming in bad weather. A lot of times I get out of the pool and jump in my hot tub,” she said. “Especially at night, because after that, I sleep so well! I could talk about my E550 swim spa all day long. It’s my best purchase ever!”

Balancing Career, Family, & Self-Care With Tiana Masaniai

Caldera Spas Tiana Family Photo750x5001

With the arrival of her new baby girl, life just got even busier for Tiana Masaniai. As an actress, model, and DIY design enthusiast, the mother of two is an expert at juggling career, family, and home demands. And, thanks to her Caldera® hot tub, she can even carve out a little quiet time for reflection or catch up with her husband, Eddie.

With modeling gigs in exotic places, acting roles in TV shows and commercials, and a stylish home recently featured in Allure magazine, Tiana’s Los Angeles lifestyle may sound like a dream. But in many ways, she and Eddie are no different from countless parents across the globe who work hard every day to complete tasks and activities on their to-do lists. With limited free time, Tiana depends on a regular self-care ritual that includes her hot tub to provide pockets of calm where she can dream, plan, and sometimes, breathe.

A Backyard Hot Tub Makes Calm & Comfort Easily Accessible

For many moms, work and family obligations expand to fill every available moment. With a newborn baby, even a few hours of uninterrupted sleep feel like a luxury, and carving out time for a much-needed break may seem nearly impossible. That’s why, when the children are asleep and mom finally has a few minutes to herself, a backyard hot tub can be the perfect escape. With a warm-water oasis just steps from the back door, stress relief and transformation are accessible and hassle-free.

During quiet moments, Tiana can take a timeout from phone calls and projects to immerse herself in the bubbling water of her Caldera Utopia® Series Geneva® hot tub and enjoy a comforting massage. Having a dedicated place to unplug and relax gives this working mom the chance to plan her next DIY home improvement or go over lines for an audition.

And while multitasking might seem like the opposite of relaxation, for Tiana, her hot tub haven provides the perfect space for creativity and inspiration to flourish. These mindful moments in the hot tub not only make her more effective in her career on dry land but also allow her to be fully present when it comes to her family.

A Warm Soak Offers Recovery & Reconnection

In the evening, Tiana and Eddie enjoy time together in the hot tub. Shared acting and modeling careers require that the couple stay fit and healthy, and their evening soak relieves stiffness and soreness while allowing them to spend quality time together. As they reconnect in their roomy six-seat spa, they like to move from seat to seat, taking advantage of the Caldera Hot Tub Circuit Therapy feature that targets each muscle group individually for the ultimate total-body massage experience.

“I didn’t realize how many benefits would come with using a hot tub regularly,” says Tiana. “Being able to end the day with even 20 minutes in our Caldera has completely changed our ability to relax and recover.”

A Stylish DIY Retreat Provides Fun, Beauty, & Relaxation

With a beautiful Los Angeles home that’s been used for photo shoots and featured in design magazines, it’s no surprise that Tiana and Eddie have turned their hot tub haven into something unique.

“Our backyard has been a place that our family loves to spend time together,” says Tiana. “But I also wanted a section specifically designated for us adults: an oasis that felt beautiful and relaxing.”

The couple has a talent for home improvements, having completed many stunning home and outdoor projects. The modern color scheme and sleek lines of their six-seater Geneva spa fit their design aesthetic perfectly, making it the ideal focal point for their beautiful backyard oasis. They’ve added a comfortable seating area along with lighting, a fire pit, and accessories to complete the look. For extra privacy, the couple expanded the wall dividing their home from their neighbors, which provided a canvas for an artful faux vine design to further enhance the space.

Life-Changing Investment In Wellness

Tiana shared with us how having a hot tub has changed her life, inspiring her and Eddie to create a backyard oasis to enjoy as a couple and family. During the day, they even turn down the temperature so their toddler can splash around with mom and dad. Tiana marvels at how it quickly heats up again for couple time under the stars. The FreshWater® Salt System gets big points from the couple for being both eco-friendly and simple to operate, providing clear, natural-feeling water without fuss.

With today’s busy lifestyles, it can be a struggle to find time to unplug and relax. But, for this family and countless others, a Caldera is a haven for comfort, relaxation, and rejuvenation, available whenever there’s a quiet moment!

“The Caldera Geneva has been a 10 out of 10 as far as meeting and exceeding our expectations of owning a hot tub,” says Tiana. “It’s increased our quality of life.”
